Willow

According to the beliefs of Celts trees combine forces of the five elements: earth, air, water, fire and vital force nwyvre. It happens because the tree grows from earth, draws water from it and its branches touch air. From a peal of thunder and in a bonfire it connects with fire. It also contains huge amount of vital energy – nwyvre. That’s why it was used not only as a building material but also for healing and divination purposes. Nowadays scientists boldly speak about the bio-field of trees and its influence on people.

Willow – expresses life’s balance and intuition. Celts believed that willow represents subconscious part of human’s psyche. It refers to moon, feminine element in nature, fertility. Staying under the willow stimulates intuition and mobilizes human to use it in life. Willow is connected with water as it often grows by the rivers. It symbolizes solicitude, femininity, vital forces, fertility, but also sadness and longing.

Zgodnie z wierzeniami Celtów drzewa łączą w sobie moce pięciu żywiołów: ziemi, powietrza, wody, ognia i siły witalnej nwyvre. Drzewo wyrasta bowiem z ziemi, czerpie z niej wodę, a jego gałęzie dotykają powietrza. Od uderzenia pioruna albo w ognisku łączy się z żywiołem ognia. Zawiera też ogromną ilość energii życia – nwyvre. Dlatego nadawało się nie tylko na materiał budowlany, ale opiekowało się ludźmi, uzdrawiało i służyło do wróżenia. Dzisiaj naukowcy coraz śmielej mówią o istnieniu biopola drzew i o jego oddziaływaniu na ludzi.

Wierzba – wyraża równowagę życiową i intuicję. Celtowie wierzyli, że wierzba reprezentuje podświadomą stronę psychiki człowieka. Odnosi się do księżyca, elementu żeńskiego w przyrodzie, do płodności. Przebywanie pod wierzbą miało pobudzać intuicję i mobilizować człowieka, aby z niej korzystał w swoim życiu. Związana z wodą, często rośnie nad rzekami. Symbolizuje opiekuńczość, żeńskość, siły witalne, płodność, ale też smutek i tęsknotę.
